Re: Why was my post locked?

No worries, thanks for asking. Just FYI though there is also an edit time limit set. After an hour posts become un-editable.

Re: Why was my post locked?

Well if you're not going to spam then great! But the scenario where a post is made and some time later that "user" comes back to edit their posts and replace the contents with spam is something that happens all the time and is just another tactic spammers use to circumvent the filters that are in pl...

Re: Why was my post locked?

1. It's a suspicious post which most times indicates you're coming back to edit and create spam.
2. Why are you trying to edit your post? Makes #1 completely true.

This is a MOD, which are no longer supported by the current version of phpBB. The MODs section is, therefore, now locked.

Re: i want a forum

As long as you provide the hosting, yes. If you don't have a hosting plan you can get that from GoDaddy, ICDSoft, or a ton of other hosting providers.

Re: i want a forum

Well you saw the list since you mentioned basic installation so you should already be aware that it's $50 for a basic forum installation and not $10.

Re: i want a forum

You mean you have a 3.2 forum already running and need an extension installed in that forum? Sure I can do that.

Re: i want a forum

Futures? Do you mean Support? None of the options include continued support. It is all a one time service. Anything else beyond that will have additional cost included as per the rates table.

Re: phpbb 3.3 - when is it published?

It'll have a few new features, but not everything we were planning. The big one we had to push off for a future release being the new style.

Re: phpBB3 question

You'll need to have created a database already in MySQL: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... quirements

The rest should be as straightforward as running through the installer instructions.

Re: phpbb 3.3 - when is it published?

Should be in the next few months. Not sure that upload files are being split into different folders in that version, but there was some work for that.

Re: An idea

That's not possible without the aid of an extension. The good news is that since all uploads are viewed or downloaded through the download/file.php script you should be able to handle through that which path things are downloaded from.

Re: best way to find phpBB version?

Since the 3.0 days we've had that information in the constants.php file so the version should be easy to determine off of that single file. Hopefully you don't have any 2.0 installations lingering around, but for that you'd maybe just check if the adm directory is missing.

Re: basic phpBB3 question

Yup. Most, if not all hosting providers have PHP and MySQL already enabled so installation should be pretty straight forward.
