Username must match front part of e-mail, and in lowercase?

I will no longer provide phpBB2 support due to phpBB2's EOL announcement. If you need help with phpBB2 you can try phpBB2 Refugees.

Username must match front part of e-mail, and in lowercase?

Post by Asha »

Hi...

Um, this forum seems really friendly, so I thought I should try and ask...

Is there any way to make the forum check that the username matches the front part of an e-mail address?

And is it possible to make it so that it automatically changes both e-mail and username to lower case no matter what was put in?

I'd really really appreciate your help! Thanks :)

Edit: I'd be trying to use http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 286&hilit= at the same time, if it's relevant at all...

So you're wanting the username to be the e-mail address minus from the @ symbol to the end? What if they change e-mail addresses? :?:

Ooh - I finally got it solved! But thank you so much for replying anyway. Um - if you're curious, the reason was that I was setting up a forum for a university, where everyone has an e-mail of ___@blah.edu, so it seemed to make sense...

Anyway thanks again anyway :)
