Hi David,
This isn't much of a support question as much as as a request for advice, but I'm putting it here as it relates to phpBB. What restrictions do you recommend to be put on Newly Registered Users on a typical forum? I'm asking because I'm thinking of starting a forum, and I don't know if the default settings for NRUs are stringent enough.
Don't worry about having to explain how to do it, as I already know how to use NEVER permissions.
Thanks.

Re: Reasonable Restrictions for NRUs
I think the default restrictions for the NRU group are pretty solid as a whole. The Moderation Queue is not used by default though so if you want to control what those users are able to post and you're OK with having to approve new posts for users in that group you'll need to change that group's forum permissions to "On Moderation Queue", but that will mean you'll need to approve every post while they're in that group. If you have a good number of moderators then that's something that could be viable.
