I have a phpbb 2.0.2.2 server.
The adress is http://www.purplemonkeydishwasher.se and the forum was newly setup and has been working fine.

What I did was copying the premodified files in directly in the phpBB2 folder on the ftp, overwriting the old files and then copyed the lang_ files to my Swedish folder. When i go to:
http://www.purplemonkeydishwasher.se/ph ... nstall.php
I get something very wierd. But when I use the other adress to the site:
http://www.smilewithin.com/phpBB2/installer/install.php
I get another error. The forum doesnt work either.

What have I done wrong? I didnt find any installguide to the premodified files other then to put it in the root of the php.

Try re-uploading the installer folder in binary mode or in ASCII mode and then try again. If that doesn't work then update the database manually using the sql scripts included in the installer folder. I've never seen the error you've encountered...
